THE SINGER
Designer Bonny Cook has been into in music from a young age. Influenced by old vinyl, Soul, Jazz and Reggae to name a few influences. She first learned the classics on piano then left school and veered away on the song writing trip.
Bonny started to get involved with various bands performing bass, keyboards and vocals and working with various producers.
Five years ago she attended the Liverpool Institute for performing artists and got her degree in Popular Music.
Currently enjoying the Norkestra way of thinking, quirky grooves and affirmations are noticeable in her style; she brings a vibrancy and insight to her lyrics.
Bonny enjoys hanging out with Jules and Ashley in the Norkestras synths, bass and vocalistic action.
THE DJ
Ashley Kellett has been involved in music & DJing from the age of 9, starting out as Milton Keynes fav college DJ and progressing into nightclubs.
As a DJ Ashley has been involved with many local clubs from ‘Lick It!’ to ‘Ultra Vegas’ and more recently ‘Fazed’. Over the years has played a variety of clubs all over the UK and the World with regular sets at ‘Southport Weekender’, ‘Ministry Of Sound’, ‘Turnmills’, ‘Progress’ and internationally in Miami, Rome, Naples, Belize and Sydney.
Ashley’s DJing style ranges right across the board from his trademark house sets to chilled out sets on the beach.
Now as part of the Norkestra Ashley is focused on merging live music with his DJ skills and a Norkestra set now consists of re-edits & remixes of classic records ranging from Reggae to the Funkadelic. The Norkestra sound ranges from the chilled out Balearic vibes to a full on break beat club sets and the result is a veritable hot pot of sound.
THE BRAINS (?)
Julian James aka ‘Fork’, a graphic designer born & bred in Leighton Buzzard showed early signs of musical wizardry. Learning to abuse the ‘Stylophone’ at the age of 8 helped forge his passion for all things musical.
Julian was one of the original members of ‘Lick It!’, a ground breaking club and radio show and whilst promoting the club started mastering his own tunes and remixes to play within his DJ sets.
Once Lick It! had run its course Julian focused on his music production and in addition to DJing in the UK and Europe was involved with several groups and solo projects and helped to set up the renowned ‘Capital Heaven’ record label.
Recently Julian has been locked away in his studio working on his gadgets and software to use in the Norkestra sets and hiding under a desk to record his vocals.
Never the type of person to become stereotyped in any one style of production he takes his influences from a variety of musical styles; this can be heard in any of the Norkestras sets.
